Adam Ant at Ironworks Inverness – 22 May 2011
Adam Ant with The Good, The Mad and The Lovely Posse will be appearing at the Ironworks in Inverness on 22 May 2011 so we can all expect Adam, real name Stuart Goddard, to “Stand And Deliver” some of our favourite “Ant Music”.
Adam And The Ants are deemed to be the crucial link between the British Punk Rock era and the self aware artists we see today most notably The Killers, The Vaccines and even Lady Gaga. Stuart Goddard dropped out of art school as he became involved in punk rock changing his name to Adam Ant while watching a Siouxsie & The Banshees gig.
Adam Ant became involved with legend Malcolm McLaren who inspired him to use the Burundi drumming blueprint on “Bow Wow Wow” to other experimental styles on “Kings Of The Wild Frontier”.
The music of Adam And The Ants was unique of its time and only Madness and Blondie can also claim to have produced equally commercial and memorable songs.
Adam Ant has a new album in the pipeline so we can expect to hear some interesting new material as well as some of our old favourites like those already mentioned plus “Prince Charming” and “Goody Two Shoes”.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Ironworks on 0871 789 4173.
